If you searched for Smart Kirana and ended up confused, that is reasonable — several unrelated products share the name. Here is what each one is, and where KiranaOS does and does not fit.
A lot of people search “is smart kirana real or fake”. The honest answer is that the main things carrying this name are genuine — they are just run by different companies and do different jobs. “Kirana” and “smart” are ordinary words, so many unrelated products use them.
KiranaOS is not connected to any of them. We are a separate product, and this page exists because people kept landing here while trying to work out the difference.

Several apps use “smart kirana” or similar names, from different developers. Typically these are counter tools: billing, udhar (credit) tracking, weight and amount calculators.
Almost every “kirana app” question comes down to this. One kind of tool helps you run the counter. The other helps your customers order. Neither replaces the other, and plenty of shops run one of each.
We would rather you picked the right tool than the one we sell. KiranaOS does not do billing, GST invoicing, inventory management or udhari accounting — and we have no plans to. If that is what you need, a billing or POS tool such as Vyapar or Khatabook will serve you better, and one of the Smart Kirana apps may too.
KiranaOS makes sense when your regulars already order from you on WhatsApp or by phone, and you want them to have a proper catalogue to browse, with the orders landing somewhere organised instead of buried in chat.
